The Scenario
This crisis management exercise simulates the occurrence of a massive coronal mass ejection (CME) in the same magnitude as the Carrington Event of 1859. This solar storm causes widespread chaos across critical sectors such as healthcare, government, emergency services, transportation, finance, and retail. The primary objective is to simulate a rapid response to the immediate catastrophic impacts, maintain critical operations amidst severe disruptions, and strategize for long-term recovery and resilience against future solar events.
The exercise is distributed over a week with live exercises, blog updates (SITREPs), and a final fireside chat session.
